Interesting and very musical studies

I am a regularly gigging jazz guitarist (20 years playing out) and I have started (January '07)started pursuing my interest in classical guitar more seriously. Music notation is well laid out and easy to read. The creme (off white) paper cuts down on glare and is easily read under lights. The binding is stapled and lays flat. These pieces can be used for performance singley or as a whole. The studies are challenging in that all of the compositions are somewhat dissonant - which makes them great as reading exercises. Also the timing and rhythm force me to pay attention to both reading and right hand fingering. Overall a great book for developing reading, right & left hand technique, and timing.

Wonderful

[...] several of them are a part of my repertoire for my classical guitar lessons; so, I thought I'd toss in my two cents. The pieces are interesting, to say the least, but not too taxing for the early-intermediate to intermediate guitarist to learn and a blast to play. Definitely recommended.

Fine pieces...

Ever since I got them, I like playing these pieces a lot. These are some fine representatives of 20th century music. They are short (1-2 minutes long), but who says that great music needs to be long?

great etude value . . . .

These are excellent pieces to study for their etude value as well as offering a great potentiality for developing musicality. They are a treat to play coupled with strong a rhythmic emphasis and a wide palette of tonal colors.

Interesting and unique.

These studies are excellent practice for the aspiring classical guitarist. They're challenging yet fun to play. Not only are they helpful in developing proper hand technique and foundation, they also give the student interesting and unique musical pieces to add to his or her repertoire.
