Tuneful piece that listener's will enjoy
Milhaud has a couple great works for clarinet. In my opinion this is the best. I like this piece because it actually is a true duo with the piano. Each person carries their own weight throughout the twists and turns of the manuscript. The piece begins with a tuneful melody that is developed throughout. The slow b section of the piece is very lyrical yet challenge as players will have to sustain pitches and smooth out leaps to high registers while remaining soft and beautiful. This edition is easy to read and interpret and I would reccomend for any intermediate/advanced player looking for something on the light and fun side.
