Dona Nobis Pacem by Anne McGinty (1945-). Orchestra. For orchestra. Orchestra method/study. Queenwood Developing String Orchestra. Score and parts. Published by Queenwood Publications (KJ.Q442021).
Dona Nobis Pacem (Latin: give us peace) is a traditional round suitable for any concert, as the message is timeless. A Round is the common name for a circle canon: in this case, it leads to a four-part round with voices entering at eight-measure intervals. The stretto begins in measure 46, where the voices enter one after the other, closer and closer together. In the final two measure, use a slow bow with light pressure a for gentle, highly effective closing.
