Concerto No. 1 in A Minor

A lovely piece, with a few sixteenth note sections that can be difficult to play correctly. It is longer than most pieces of this level.

My Favorite Piece!

I've been playing violin for eight years, and this is my FAVORITE piece to play! It has so many different moods throughout that make it very interesting and fun. It does require good technique, and of course, it's long, but it's a wonderful finger and bowing exercise. It may not be the easiest, but you feel happy after finishing it.

Fun for Beginners

This is a very good beginner concerto, for starters like a few of my students. It really improves their technique, and I remember playing it as a child. It was very enjoyable, but some of it was a little dull.

student concerto - good old arrangement!

Having ordered the Accolay Violin Concerto from sheetmusic plus, I will not hesitate again to find my music here. I looked at my local music shop for this particular old standard arrangement, and they only had much more current ones with smaller, tighter print (notes). I really prefer the ease of this for reading, and was thrilled to have it shipped in fairly short order. Bravo, sheetmusic plus!

A Good Beginner Concerto

The Accolay presents an interesting introduction for the young violinist to concertos. I recall it being initially very difficult when I played it in sixth grade, but I loved its showy nature and how it helped me to build on necessary technical skills. I have recently pulled the Accolay out of my pile of music, and I realized what a magnificant piece it is. I would recommend it for any violinist with 2-5 years of experience.

Very Fun and Initially Challenging

This is one of the more fun concertos i have played. It at first seems very difficuly, but once you break it down into pieces you find that it is both fun and exciting. I loved playing this concerto and would recommend it for any experienced intermediate player.
