Great Music! Great Price!

Have always loved Brahms and was delighted when my piano teacher asked me to order this. Even though I am past my mid-40's, I'm enjoying the challenge of taking piano lessons again after a 30+-year break. Never dreamed I would get the chance to learn some of the most gorgeous piano music ever written so soon after re-starting lessons! Very pleased with the price offered on this music! Just don't tell my teacher that I'm more than twice her age; I don't think she knows!

Brahms is Wonderful

Brahms' music is hard to understand, loose, and sometimes complicated to understand. Some of his songs are non-melodic, which is not what we are used to hearing. Brahms music is impossible to humm. It can get complex; the parallel arpeggios, but it is still pretty to listen to, and very impressive.

Most of the best pieces by Brahms

Brahms' pieces are always difficult to understand. Yet, once you get the mood, you will just love it. This collection include almost all of the best solo piano pieces wiritten by Brahms. If you want to try Brahms but do not know where to start with, try this one first. The crazy variations are not included in this editions. Hence I rate it as Intermediate only.

Brahms is boring

Brahms music is over-thinked,over-pathetic, over-complicated, unoriginal and boring!!! Try Liszt or Chopin, and remeber Mozart and Beethoven are forever!!

Brahm's Very Best Piano Solos Here

This volume has many of Brahm's best solo piano works - "Rhasodies" Op 79 1&2, the beautiful "Intermezzi" Op 117&118, plus more. Like all Schirmer editions, I had a print shop cut the edge and replace it with a rolled wire binder so the music will sit flat.
