Classical Piano Solos for Worship Settings by Gail Smith. For Piano. Solos. Classic. SMP Level 4 (Intermediate). Book. 56 pages. Published by Mel Bay Publications, Inc (MB.94672).

ISBN 9781562223199. Classic. 8.5x11 inches.

A unique collection of classical piano solos appropriate for church services as well as concerts and personal enjoyment. These carefully edited or arranged pieces represent a number of well-known composers and were chosen because of their indefinable quality of reverence and artistic expression. Each piece can create a feeling of peace, joy, calmness, love, comfort, and an overall sense of well being for the listener. The book includes selections by Scarlatti, Gluck, Schumann, Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and many others. The author also provides suggestions of appropriate pieces for various times during a church service. Most of the pieces are intermediate in difficulty; a few are slightly more advanced. The author offers encouragement to the pianist: "It has been said that Music is the language of Heaven and cannot be spoken in words. As you play these beautiful pieces, I pray that you will be uplifted as well as the listeners.".

Classical Piano Solos for Worship Settings

Nice collection of pieces that are not too long. Lots of familiar pieces gathered in one convenient place, plus some that are new to me. Very useful!
