Claire De Lune from Suite Bergamasque (For Piano Solo (Original Version, Unedited)) by Claude Debussy Piano Solo - Sheet Music

By Claude Debussy

The original, unedited, unsimplified version of one of Debussy's most popular piano works. This ethereal, flowing section of Suite Bergamasque is diatonic and displays a conventional harmonic vocabulary in D-flat major. The title, Clair de lune, suggests a relationship to Paul Verlaine's eponymous poem, describing a vision of long-dead dancers in the moonlight. The music transmits the otherworldly, transparent, and impalpable qualities of the experience while maintaining clarity and definition. Perfect for the burgeoning late intermediate pianist.

Claire De Lune

I knew and loved the piece before I purchased it. This is a reproduction of the original music. However, the quality of the print reproduction is poor to average. Still easily readable but not what I expected.

Claire de Lune

When I took piano lessons as a child, Claire de Lune was instantly one of my favorites. Before I learned it myself I enjoyed hearing my mother playing the original version. When I decided to tackle the original version, to my surprise I found it much more comfortable to play than the easier versions. All the flats initially look very daunting, but once you realize that playing on all the black keys helps your fingers flow with the notes, you'll never go back to another version.

Amazing

I have been playing the piano for many years, and this has been the song that has remained my absolute favorite. It took me a few months to learn, but it all was worth it. I found it easy to memorize (with practice) and in my opinion, it is one of the greatest pieces ever written.

Damaged product

There is nothing wrong with the arrangement or quality of the product other than it was damaged when I received it. It was not placed down into the envelope far enough and the end of the envelope was bent in transit. The sheet music was bent badly on one end. I emailed the company about this and got no response. Nobody cared.

A wonderful piece of music

I agree with those who say it is totally worth learning and the rewards are great. This particular edition is, well, the print is a little fuzzy. (Maybe it is just my copy) On bright white paper. I think I will look for another edition.

Give it a Whirl

Learn it- you won't regret it. That's all I can say!My dad isn't much of a music person, and when I played it for him, he actually realized there was some story behind it, so that must mean something.Good copy. Etc. Buy. ;)

Go for it!

I've noticed that many of the comments have warned beginners away. No offense intended towards those who commented along those lines, but anyone who truly loves a song can learn to play that song! This piece is so beautiful that it lulls you in, learning it is no barrier. I learned to play the Moonlight Sonata in a week when I was twelve simply because I loved the song. If passion can enable me to do that, then I say, go for it! If you love the song, play it!
