Clair de lune (from Suite Bergamasque) by Claude Debussy (1862-1918). Edited by Willard A. Palmer. For Piano. Masterworks; Piano Solo; Solo. Alfred Masterwork Edition. Impressionistic; Masterwork. SMP Level 9 (Advanced). Book. 8 pages. Published by Alfred Music Publishing (AP.2160).
ISBN 0739012924. Impressionistic; Masterwork.
The original, unsimplified version of one of Debussy's most popular piano works. This ethereal, flowing section of Suite Bergamasque is diatonic and displays a conventional harmonic vocabulary in D-flat major. The title, Clair de lune, suggests a relationship to Paul Verlaine's eponymous poem, describing a vision of long-dead dancers in the moonlight. The music transmits the otherworldly, transparent, and impalpable qualities of the experience while maintaining clarity and definition. Perfect for the burgeoning late intermediate pianist. Edited by Willard A. Palmer.

Pretty and Well-Titled
This piece is pretty, rather romantic, and very nice when played properly. It does a very good job setting to music "Clair de lune," the light of the moon. I am far from mastering the piece, and my opinion of it may improve- or become more disapproving!- as I progress....

Pretty challenging
I wanted to play this song because I heard Victor Borge playing it on a DVD that we watched. It really inspired me. I got it and am starting to learn it. It is quite challenging, but a great song.
