Beautiful, moody, quirky pieces that range from simple to challenging-if-you-want-to-get-it-right type of series. Bittersweet melodies and whimsical little ditties. I purchased both Connections 5 and 6, but I'd say the skill level between the two is the same. 5 starts off simple but quickly gets more complicated with fingering, while 6 ebbs and flows with intermediate pieces. I didn't know where to start in jazz as an advanced player, and I would recommend this series to anyone looking for 2 minute arrangements to shake up their repertoire. I'll turn my Roland into a fish tank if you can't find at least 5 songs from this series that becomes an obsession to play. Only issue is that the online accompaniment (a code on the inside front cover lets you download tracks of the pieces) always has the ensemble playing with the piano sample. Solo piano would have been nice, as the recording sounds a little goofy with the other instruments.
