Choral Preludes - Score and parts by Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707). For alto recorder and piano/oboe. Recorder with Keyboard or Continuo. Level 2 - Easy to Moderate. Score and Parts. 20 pages. Published by Moeck Verlag (MM.MK01033).
When Dietrich Buxtehude (1637 - 1707) played his short organ preludes, of which this volume contains a selection, on the organ of St. Marys in Liibeck, the sources prove that he used the great for the ornamented chorale itself, assigning the contrapuntal parts to the swell. Thus he lifted the main part out of the texture of accompanying parts, giving it a special tone quality and des teaching it from the ensemble of the other parts with their identical colour. The present selection is based on the complete edition of Buxtehudes organ works by Philipp Spitta (Leipzig 1876/77). 20 page score with parts.
