Wonderful Arrangements
The Charlie Brown CHristmas arrangements are challenging pieces, but well worth spending time to learn. The arrangements are very satisfying and the collection was extremely useful for the holiday party entertaining I did this year. I recommend it highly and look forward to playing them agian next Christmas!

A Charlie Brown Christmas
I am very pleased with this music. It is accurately rated at late-intermediate level and is a joy to play! I had always wanted to buy this book and I'm very glad I did. The discounted price I received was very nice, too. A great purchase for the Holiday Season!

Charlie Brown Christmas
I ordered this to get a couple of my favorite songs from the TV show. The "jazz-style" rhythm is tricky, but the songs bring back happy childhood memories.

Charlie Brown Christmas
This is only playable by accomplished pianists (not necessarily concert-level pianists). It is a wonderful collection that should be in every serious Charlie Brown lover/pianist's library. My family looks forward to my performance of this book - from cover to cover - each Christmas. I couldn't be without it!

Just what I was looking for
At first for about a week and a half it would not come and I was scared it never would, but it did and it is literally the exact same as the CD I looked through the sheet music and listened to the CD and they are identical though a lot of the songs are relatively difficult I just got it yesterday and and I know half of o Tannenbaum...such amazing and beautiful jazz chords!!! Don't Hesitate buy this book.

Peanuts Illustrated Songbook better for the money
I do not own this book. However, I talked with Hal Leonard today and discovered that the arrangements in the "Peanuts Illustrated Songbook" are identical to the arrangements in "A Charlie Brown Christmas". It includes all of the same songs (minus "Fur Elise") plus twenty-one others and is only costs a few dollars more. If you are going to invest in Peanuts sheet music, I highly recommend buying the "Peanuts Illustrated Songbook". Enjoy!

A Fun Book!
Bought this for the upcoming holiday season, and I'm not disappointed in the least! I've always been a big Charlie Brown fan, and now I can play Linus and Lucy - which makes it all the better. However, some songs are much, much harder than others.

I'm really happy with this book. The transcriptions sound pretty accurate (to my ear, anyway) and are well within my skill level. These pieces are so much fun to play!

not for the intermediate guitarist
I have always been able to take sheet music and transpose difficult chords to simpler chords, but this one is IMPOSSIBLE--The song "Christmas Time Is Here" is written only for the advanced jazz pianist--Do not try this at home. I spent 2 days trying to convert Eb13 #11 into something found on the guitar, but my book of 7,000 chords didn't even have something like that---Too bad

Review of Charlie Brown Christmas music
I love this book. I had previous purchased another book of Charlie Brown piano solos and it contained 2 of the arrangements in this book but it was still worth the purchase. I especially like the arrangement of "O Christmas Tree" and bought the book just for that piece.

Really Great Arrangements
I LOVE the arrangement of The Christmas Song..it's beautiful. Christmas Time is Here is one of my favorites too. The rhythms on some of the jazzy solos are hard especially in O Tannenbaum...but this is a really great christmas book to own at an intermediate level.

It is good
its good, but its not The real original. Its as close as you can get i think, but if you listen to the CD of this, some have extra notes and stuff that arent in this book. Maybe it was just some live improvization. But otherwise i LOVE IT! Fun to play

very fun
The difficulty of this music varies by song and style. The more traditional pieces are fairly easy (my 8 year old is working on "Hark the Herald Angels Sing"). The signiture "Linus and Lucy" is a little harder for me as I don't have a good jazzy foundation - I find the synchopated rhythum to be a little challenging, but in a good way.

Great Holiday Jazz
What a classy way to start off the Christmas season. Everything in the book sounds like it came off the soundtrack. It challenges even the advanced pianist with rhythmic triplet swings and sixteenth notes stacked up like apartment buildings in New York. It's a great selection for a relaxing December evening, with pieces like "The Christmas Song" and "O Tannenbaum", whether at Christmas parties or in front of the fire. It'll still get you on your feet, though, with music like "Christmas is Coming" and "Skating". Enjoy the best of Vince Guaraldi with "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

Charlie Brown's Christmas was my Christmas
I was excited to receive this product so quickly and even more pleased with the product itself. I never learned to improvise so I have been looking for an accurate transcription of Guaraldi's "Charlie Brown Christmas" that sounded like the original complete with every note. My quest is over. The pieces are challenging to learn, but sound, with a touch of imagination, like Mr. Guaraldi himself. For the first time the cast of "Peanuts" comes alive without the CD.

Although I was looking for just a few Charlie Brown Christmas pieces, they were all there, including Fur Elise. Delivery was prompt. Although the pieces were quite difficult for a beginner/intermediate player such as myself, they were true to the television version.

Play like Vince!
This is a great book... I bought two copies, one for a friend and one to give my daughter (which she shares with me). The arrangements sound to me like they are the actual transcriptions of Vince's piano work on the now legendary recording. It's definitely not a book for beginners, although beginners might find it fun to pick around on the famous Linus and Lucy theme. A nice feature of this book is a very nice binding which allows pages to lie flat.

Fantastic - As Expected
I enjoy the Charlie Brown Christmas Special television show every year and always thought that the music was an important part of the show. Since I play piano and I am the vice president of my company's choral group-The Ford Motor Company Chorus- I searched for music that I love and that our audience will enjoy - this book covers both goals!

Enjoyable music book
I have enjoyed my Charlie Brown Christmas music book. I played fairly well growing up, but as an adult, I am very rusty and feel lucky to have time to sight read something at least once a month. As rusty as I am, I am able to play most of these songs, and I have enjoyed the challenge of learning some new ones. I recommend this to a person who feels he/she is an intermediate level piano player.

I've played this entire book and it can get pretty hard. If you want to play this, you have to have very good skills for reading music. But if you can play this stuff, it's really fun. THe rythyms are really fun to play around with as well as the melodies.

A little short, but magical all the same
The Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack has been a holiday staple all my life. A few of the other Charlie Brown books contain several of these songs (Linus & Lucy, Christmas Time is Here, Christmas is Coming, and so on) but the few that are new are wonderful. My particular favorite is The Christmas Song because it sounds exactly like the CD. A great buy.

Playable arrangements for Guaraldi fans
If you grew up enjoying Charles Schultz's peanuts TV special "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and you've been studying piano for a few years, then you'll be delighted with these arrangements. However, to quote Denver CO's November 2003 review, "If what you REALLY want is exact Guaraldi transcriptions of Linus & Lucy, O Tannenbaum, Greensleeves, and Christmas Time is Here, including the great solos he does within those songs --- what you really should check out is 'The Vince Guaraldi Collection' (Product Number HL.672486) from Hal Leonard's Artist Transcriptions series." And in that case, be prepared for some *advanced* level material with highly elaborate runs and complicated rhythms/note groupings.

You take it and make it your own
Linus and Lucy is my favorite and I play it in all my Christmas Concerts! In fact, I've been playing it for 20 years. It confuses me to see some people here comment they want the solo transcriptions for the low price they offer this book at. This is the type of book that you take home, play it, and make it your own. There is room for improvisation. If you want note for note, you'll have to find the solo transcriptions in some other offer by a publisher at a much higher cost. As a professional pianist, I know how much labour there is involved to transcribe solos, and therefore, it should cost much more to have the solos included. Point is, I think there is plenty in here to work with and the rest is up to your imagination!

Excellent!
The music of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" gives the Christmas season so much more flavor and joy. This book is fantastic and the arrangements are great, especially "Christmas is Coming" and "What Child is This". Having this book gives one a great repertoire for a Christmas gig, or just overall jazz performance. The only downside is that the bossa nova section of "Linus and Lucy" is completely left out, but thankfully I already have the full original edition. Guaraldi's music is sensational.

All time Favorite Christmas songs
My all time faves - both to listen to and to play. The arrangements are pretty faithful to the CD if you have that too (like I do). Some songs are easier than others and I could list what I like about each and every song. But the top of my list would have to be the arrangements on Oh Tannenbaum, What Child is This, The Christmas Song and Christmas is Coming (I play this one really, really loud ;) ) Love, love love it. Christmas with Peanuts and Guaraldi. How can you lose?

Ehhhh...not good enough for my standards
I've been searching high and low for a COMPLETE Linus and Lucy and sadly, this fails me yet again, leaving one of the solos out : X its almost perfect on the other songs in most respects... but I think it should have Fur Elise in its entirety...even though its not on the show or the disk just cuz I like Fur Elise

Want the real thing? Close enough
1) If what you REALLY want is exact Guaraldi transcriptions of Linus & Lucy, O Tannenbaum, Greensleeves, and Christmas Time is Here, including the great solos he does within those songs --- what you really should check out is 'The Vince Guaraldi Collection' ("Product Number HL.672486") from Hal Leonard's Artist Transcriptions series. That book does, in fact, contain the note-for-note transcriptions of those songs *exactly* as they are played by Guaraldi on the Charlie Brown Christmas CD, complete with the snazzy imrpovisations he does on the disc. It also has other transcriptions of his great stylings. (2) That being said, this book's arranger did a great job in this book. The Christmas songs in here may not be 100% exactly like Guaraldi actually played them, but they are close enough that your audience won't notice - and you won't mind! Most of the songs are fairly short here, and this is classic stuff.

Vince Guaraldi loved writing complex chords! The music is a challenge for me,I'm barely an "intermediate" player at best, but these tunes are worth the effort! They are beautifully composed, and the sounds are timeless.Anyone with love for the Charlie Brown Christmas music has to get this book! With time and practice,I hope to be playing a few tunes by this Christmas-and if not,I have the CD to inspire me on! Worth buying... for one song
I found the music easily readible, except for The Christmas Song, which, in itself, is reason enough to buy the book. That song would be intermediate/advanced, but other songs just barely make beginnging intermediate. Linus and Lucy was good too, the song is in its entirety.

This Music Makes Me Happy!
I grew up watching "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" and listening to the soundtrack. When my teacher gave me a piece of sheet music for "Christmas Time is Here," I knew that I had to have the whole thing. The transcriptions are exactly as I hear them in my head. I love to play this music over and over again. I don't exactly practice my lessons as much as I should, but this music makes me want to play.

High on Guaraldi
I have been listening to the CD of this for as long as I can remember. It was a Christmas gift from my Dad's friend and we never failed to play it at our Christmas parties. When my piano teacher got the sheet music for me I was literally hooked. I am not what you would call a serious piano player-practicing was tedious often requiring parental bribery, but when I began playing this I just couldn't stop. My desire to polish the pieces and get them to sound like Gueraldi has been so strong that I just while away hours playing it. I hope to get a few pieces ready for Christmas! ENJOY! This is seriously some of the greatest music around!

A Slight Reversal
This is the guy who said "Linus and Lucy" is complete. OK, it's not. But the solo left out is almost the same as the one left in. And no one complains about the other quite lengthy solos left out - like O Tannenbaum. So stop whining! . . . Thank you.

"Linus and Lucy" IS Complete!
You're not doing "Linus and Lucy" justice here. There are two solos for L&L - one played in the Peanuts context, and one played when L&L is played on its own. This sheet music, by the way, is for the CD, not the cartoon! By the way, BEST MUSIC EVER!!!!!

Well Worn Songbook
Of the dozens of Holiday songbooks I own, I always come back to this one. I've memorized most of the book... play these tunes anywhere and you'll get a great response. The transcriptions are excellent. I've noticed the book is missing one "background" piece, played several times during the show... anyone know where I can find this song?

Faithful transcriptions
Only some transcriptions are complete but all are faithful to the recorded soundtrack. "The Christmas Song" is a note for note transcription and is beautiful. Linus and Lucy is also true to the original except for one missing piano solo section. The rest are quite good and capture the recordings even though they don't all contain all of Guaraldi's improvised solos. Less dificult to play than they sound. Great fun.

charlie brown
this was a good book. my favorite song in here was what child is this. most of the songs sound pretty accurate. the only thing i didn't like was that in linus and lucy, they cut out one of the parts. but other than that its pretty good.

Blast Yourself Back to Childhood
This collection of songs from "A Charlie Brown Christmas" special is fabulous! The arrangements sound, to my ear, exactly like they did on the TV show. The music is intended for the int./adv. player since the rhythms can be tricky. The songs are as well loved today as they were 30 years ago by young and old alike! My only complaint is that the book is hard to keep open on the piano, as many music books are. Otherwise, this book contains very well-done versions of the classic Charlie Brown Christmas songs. So start playing and reminisce!!
