Great composers inspired to write cadenza for Beet

Beethoven's great 3rd piano concerto has inspired many other great composers over the past 200 years to write cadenzas for this work. Though Beethoven's own cadenza is what is usually played at concerts it is interesting to see how other contemporary composers of Beethoven's were also compelled to write a cadenza for the first movement. Other subsequent generations of composers such as Franz Liszt, Bedrich Smetana, Clara Schumann and Gabriel Faure all wrote fantastic cadenzas. And as recently as 2004 cadenzas are being written for this most inspiring work of Beethoven's .
