Consider a solo
We, too, have an older choir and handled the syncopation by assigning a solo. That gave everyone the freedom to relax and enjoy the song. It was a beautiful Christmas Eve song at our church. The piano part takes a little practice but not bad if you're an intermediate or above player.

Suitable for Ages teen - 50 yrs old
I bought this piece for my adult choir for Christmas Eve, and since most of my adult choir is over the age of 60, this piece was difficult to learn in 3-4 rehearsals. The syncopated rhythm is difficult at the beginning, but I need at least 2 months to prepare this piece for next Christmas. Overall, it is a very nice piece. There is a place to cut, if necessary, the ending is very long with repeating the Breath of Heaven Chorus many times over, but the chords/voices of the choir build each time. Not for a beginning choir.

It's a lovely piece that goes on too long.
There are several lovely motifs that deserve development, but it just never ends.

Beautiful Piece
My students truly didn't have a hard time learning this piece. They became quite fond of it quickly, and the audience loved it. I believe this will be a piece that my school will be able to keep in their library for years to come. Great piece!

ALWAYS my favorite
This a very stirring and dramatic song. Musically, the verses start rather subtly then build to a simple but emotional chorus. The harmonies in the 4 part version are lovely. If you have a good female soloist, this song is a great one to feature her. The lyrics, written from Mary's point of view, express her fear and doubt about being chosen by God, and her willingness to accept it. This will deinitely become one of your favorites!

Beautiful Arrangement - Touching!
This arrangement is gorgeous and rich. We have an excellent soloist backed by a small choir and are able to make this song sound even better that Amy Grant's original recording! When we sing this song, there is not a dry eye in the church.
