For chords deep knowledge

It is quite dense, but it makes you understand chords, and with the exercises, it makes you explore different positions for them. Great reference and study not only for blues, but for any style of music

Works for me

I found it tough but very good. It is definitely improving my playing. This book is substantial and not something I'm breezing through, like I have with some others. It will take me a good 6 months to finish it, but I will have raised my playing level alot. The recorded songs are exactly like the tab and music. Some fun stuff to play, very well arranged. A lot of work went into the book. I ripped the tunes and put them on my Tascam MP3 trainer so I can slow them down. I'm going to try the More Blues you can use next.

My Review

Blues You Can Use Book of Guitar Chords is NOT just a reference book. It is a complete method containing 3 sections: Theory, Chords, and Exercises. It is not a book that you can just skim through and except everything to be there. The theory requires concentration and thorough review. If used the way the author recommends, it will take a long time to finish this book, but it is worth it, and if you do, you will have a VERY thorough knowledge of Triads, 7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths, 6ths, and other Diminished, Altered, and Sus. Chords.
