Best Gospel Songs
Great book, fast shipping but do not appreciate the large volumes of e-mails that I get because I ordered. I did check the do not contact box, and have again since in an effort to try and stop the e-mails but they keep coming!!!

Great collection of old songs
I am a violinist. These are perfect songs for me to play at nursing homes. The melody lines are easy to intermediate for either vocalist or C instruments; however, many of the piano parts are more challenging. One problem that I have with this book is that it needs to have a spiral binding.

Disappointment
Although the selection of songs was good (most of what I was looking for) the keys many of them are written in are not guitar friendly. I'm not new to the guitar but I'm new (at 63) to reading music. Some of these songs/chords are just too hard for my arthritic fingers to get to quickly. Seems it is much more suited to the piano than guitar.

BEst Gospel Songs Ever
Very nice selection of songs. Skill level is intermediate to advanced. I was able to play most of the song easily the first time through. My only disappointment was the arrangemnet of "UPon the Rock". It is mostly an accompaniment. I would recommend this book for people who like the "old time" gospel songs.

Best Gospel Songs
I haven't played a lot from the book yet, I've tried a few, some are easy, some are hard. It does have a lot of the old time favorites I use to love to hear, so it gets five stars for that. I do recommend the book.

Wonderful Selections
I recently retired and now have time to play piano again. The selections are excellent. There are some that I recognize and some that I don't, but they are all wonderful. I sat down one day and played them all, marking my favorites as I played. I have played some during the offering at church, and churchgoers enjoy the arrangements. My personal favorites are "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and "His Name is Wonderful". The pieces are beautiful and well within the range of the intermediate pianist.

The Best With Ease
When it says the best gospel music written, it was an understatement. There were no "contemperary" or "Christain Rock." Just good, great, wonderful, thoughtful, meaningful, gospel music.

Still Looking
I was going to buy it but it did not include two of my favorites which I wanted to sing at the nursing home where I serve. They are: 1) How Long Has It Been, and 2) Have Thine Own Way Lord

Very pleased with this Gospel Book
I am the church organist and am always looking for Gospel tunes that are familiar to the congregation. I personally like Fake Books, but the piano player cannot play from fake music so I was happy to find The Best Gospel Songs Ever. Another book I enjoy is Gospel's Greatest Fake Book also put out by Hal Leonard.

Best Gospel Songs--Great Selection
Best Gospel Songs is a wonderful music book. The selection of songs is one of the best I've seen, and the arrangements are lovely! I've been using this book for pre-service music at church, and the songs are a huge hit!

Good gospel music
Nice compilation of gospel music from various sources. It's a fairly thick book and in my opinion it would be better with a spiral binding so that it would lay flatter without almost having to break the binding.

THIS IS A NICE BOOK FOR INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS, NOT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, YET ADDS ENOUGH TO MAKE PRETTY ARRANGEMENTS.

Most complete easy gospel collection available
Alot of bang for your buck. All the favorites for a very reasonable price. Can be enjoyed by beginners and experts alike. After I purchased mine, 2 more women in my church immediately purchased their own!

Worked perfect
Our church's mens quartet sang a song from "Best Gospels". They and our pianist and back-ups found the music just perfect in all aspects.

Great song book!
I really like this book. It is not too hard, yet difficult enough not to insult an accomplished player. The selection is great. GREAT.

Easy for a new bassist
I originally bought this music for myself as I am learning to play bass guitar. My son, an experienced guitarist began to play with me. We have added a violinist and piano to our quartet and so I bought three additional volumes. The music is easy enough to learn and performs well in our church services. We have found a song or two that have strange chords, not to our liking. But over all, it has been a very positive experience.

Good Song Book
I think this is a great gospel song book. I bought mine because there are songs in it that our trio at church like to sing, that are not in our church hymnal. I wanted the music for our pianist to be able play those songs for us.(I don't play the piano) One of my friends liked my book so much, she had me order another one for her. The pianist borrowed my book (and still has it) to pick out additional songs for our choir to sing. So, I may have to order another one. :-)

Great Variety
Loved the arrangements in this book. Great for those who read music and don't have the "ear" to add frills and trills.

Old time Gospel!
Many people in their later years know these old time favorites & really enjoyed hearing them again. I'm very happy that I found an outlet that carries a music book like this!

Well pleased
I went through the book and love all of the old southern gospel music. There's not one song that has not or could not touch someone even today. Not just when they were written or sung in the past. There is a special anointing on each song.

not the best versions
This book is full of popular music; however, I was disappointed after actually playing the pieces. Some of the keys were not right for the song and there were quite a few mistakes.

Great for Beginners
It's actually a really good book, with big notes and cords. I think some of the cords are a little off on some of the songs but for the most part its a great book.
