The bass that isn't
Unfortunately, EVERY song in this volume is written in treble clef instead of bass clef and thus goes problematically high for a true bass (like myself). It should be retitled "Baritone Songs" for truth in advertising. Disappointing purchase; only about four songs out of the volume are any good to...

Way Down Low
Wonderful stuff! What more persuasive argument could be adduced for the old saw: "They just don't write them as they used to!" From the softly melodic and dreamily romantic (Der Lindenbaum) through the rattling and bucolic ("Drinking","Bacchus, God of Mirth and Wine") to the fankly impossible ("I am a Roamer")...
