Play-Along solos
Absolutely brilliant! A great selection of popular music with CD accompaniment that makes individual practice a real pleasure. For someone like myself with a brass background coming back to playing after many years, it has made it much easier to "get my lip in" again very easy. I can recommend...

Good Listening
Beautiful music. Easy listening. It is a play-a-long and not a true accompaniment disk. If using as a background disk for a solo instrument, sometimes the xylophone overshadows the solo instrument. Long sustained phrases would be difficult for a beginner. And for others can be boring.

Nice Selection
This book has a fairly good mix of easy-to-perform tunes. Good way for relatively new players to get of the solo-only or band-only rut. Note that to get the most from this, you need a sound system that can balance left/right to get rid of the trumpet cues.

Notes were not for brass all the time
A number of the pieces had note ranges that were really too low for the trumpet part but the background was good with some variety so that playing a number from the book did not get redundant. The audience reaction was still favorable for the their favorite songs. To make...
