PRIMUS ROCKS
Being an experienced bassist I found this purchase excellent in helping me figure out a few of the "head scratcher" parts of a few of these songs. Great Purchase!

if you want it right
this is the real music, certainly not necessary to learn it this way, but to put these primus riffs on paper, they look this wild, take your cues from here and build the songs into your memory and it will be smooth sailing, cheesy even. best way to pick it up and a great music reading exercise.

excellent
First things first...if your're buying this for guitar, mailnly (like i did) you'd best have a tremolo bar, especially if you plan on playing stuff liike DMV or Mr. Krinlkle. Other than that this book is great becuase there are no alternate tunings to mess you up and owning it awesome becuase all the internet Primus Tabs are very very wrong. For stuff like the john the fisherman riff or the Groundhog's Day solo you will want this book.

primus is bad
primus is bad and so is this book. If you like primus this book is a need. I play a four string bass and its great for songs like "john the fisherman" and "eleven" and if you have a six string bass its great for learning "jerry was a racecar driver" "DMV" and "my name is mud".

Oh Claypool,Les Claypool!-you crazy dude
These other ratings are good, but they don't make sense .If the tabs are as good as they could be then give them five stars! You guys don't know how to rate !If the tabs aren't as good as they could be, then please state your opinion. I give this book five stars, the only weakness is that the bass transcription for "My Name is Mud" is toooo vague. But the notes are all right, and the guitar lines are all clear and at the best they could possibly be at.

refreshing insight on the bass
I've got a four string fretted so I have to transpose a lot of this stuff... "Jerry was a race car driver" and "DMV" are great examples of his 'stu-hammish' tapping technique, and needless to say, "my name is mud" and "fish on" are just plain hard. This man is a staccato god.

Claypool = God
Ok. I personally wouldn't agree with the other reviews, unless I've been playing for a few more years. Claypool's a god, I don't care what anyone else says. The book's insanely difficult. For some of the songs, you need a 6-string, so it may not sound really good. If you HAVE been playing fer a coupla years, this book's incredible. Playing Claypool is spectacular. The only thing wrong with this, is it's unbelievably difficult.
