Composed for double chorus, boys choir and gospel choir and orchestra, the three-movement work celebrates the idea of individual liberty and equality with a text based on excerpts from the Magna Carta, the writings of Thomas Jefferson, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and original lyrics by the composer.

I was there!
I was a member of the choir that performed this piece on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in 2000. This entire cantata was challenging and very rewarding to learn. The first soprano part is VERY high, and many of our altos had difficulty reaching some of the notes. But...
