Complete Chord Comping Compendium
The author does an excellent job on presenting the 3-note chord method of rhythm guitar. With a bit of practice you can duplicate the sound of Freddie Greene and Count Basie rhythm section. This is an excellent book for learning how to pack each beat of a measure with a new chord. Examples of alternate and chord substitutions abound for many exampls. If you ever wondered how to play those fat sounding comping chords heard in the background of jazz ensembles this is the book to get. It provides examples of almost all keys and rhythms. An excellent refernce book for rhythm players, as important as a good chord book.
