Sweet nostalgic songs, but not Boogie Woogie
These are nice white-bread songs from the 40's and 50's but they are not what I think of when someone says boogie woogie. I agree with the reviewer who says this is a misrepresentation, but I won't give it one star because some of this music is good stuff, in a sweet nostalgic sense. Just not boogie woogie.

Book is a misrepresentation
Many of the pieces have very little boogie woogie in them. The pieces were way too simple. I was really looking for something equivalent to the transcriptions by Colin Davey which can be purchased at his website. I think this publication is misnamed and should not be entitled boogie woogie. I have played classical music for many years and consider myself fairly advanced. I bought this book because I want to play boogie woogie pieces from sheet music. The book was a disappointment.

confidence building boogie woogie exercises
i have found this book of exercises very helpful developing hand independence. it also allows you to create patterns you can mix and match. overall, easy exercies, a confidence builder, and a good addition to other music you should have.

Solid left hand
Good old fashioned numbers, done with a boogie left hand.when played with a certain feel, have a good driving sound.

Entertaining
Out of 20 pieces I found 16 to be of a good enough quality to play over and over again. Take special note of the fantastic "Bumble Boogie" (based on The Flight of the Bumblebee) that will twist and tickle your fingers, and is worth the price of the book. I think I'll try some other Bill Irwin arrangements.

Fun Stuff!
Nice mid-intermediate arrangements, very fun sight reading for advanced players. Arrangements are interesting and full sounding. Good price, too.
