Excellent Book
I am 68 and I am starting to learn to play piano using Alfred“s Adult All-In-One Method. I find this book excellent and a good complement to Alfred“s books. It is very easy to follow and understand. It has exercises and even ear training (it is a shame that I did not buy the CDs). I believe that this book is ideal for anyone who wants to learn the basics of music theory. I really enjoy studying it and recommend it.

A teacher helper
This is a wonderful series. The theory information is given usually visually through graphics and through written information. Then, the student practices underneath the skills reviewed above. It can get quite difficult for a beginner in book two. I recommend this series for the middle and high school grades. The third book gets into college level material, but a great preview for the budding college music student.

A fine book!
This is a book I use extensively in my piano studio. Beyond some small and funny quirks - which all theory books have - it's a thoughtful, helpful resource. Music teachers, take note!
