A Longford Legend by Robert Sheldon. Concert Band. Concert Band; SmartMusic. Alfred Concert Band. Grade 4. Conductor Score & Parts. 276 pages. Published by Alfred Music Publishing (AP.18243).
Another outstanding composition by Robert Sheldon, A Longford Legend is destined to become a classic! It was commissioned by the Normal Community West High School Band, Normal, Illinois and is based on three poems found in a collection of Irish Street Ballades. Written in three movements, A Longford Legend is a tribute to the wonderful band literature of Grainger, Holst and Vaughan Williams. A Longford Legend is a magnificent showpiece for every instrument in the band - a must for your next concert! This title is available through SmartMusic.

Interesting Piece
Good instrumentation and transitional quality. It's got all the things you want for your students to work on. Molly Bawn is quite challenge in a a perspective that it requires control of tone and it is very exposed. It's a very fun piece. I personally recommend it.

Second movement has a beautiful...
