Smp_stars50 A perfect edition for most

"This is a complete edition of Chopin's preludes, nocturnes, and waltzes, including pieces that weren't published in Chopin's lifetime. This edition does have editorial markings throughout, so if you are participating in competitions, in college, or a professional musician, I would get a different edition (maybe a Henle or one edited by Paderewski). For everyone else, this is a perfect edition at an excellent price. The fingerings are very helpful (for the most part-for instance, how is one supposed to play the big chord in prelude #20?), the dynamics sound good (even if some of them aren't original to Chopin), and it's relatively easy to read. My favorite pieces in this book are prelude #4 (simple but in my opinion one of Chopin's most emotional works), prelude #19 (extremely difficult and hypnotizingly beautiful), and the Grand Valse Brillante."

Smp_stars40 A Good Collection

"A must have for Chopin fans. These pieces are not edited too heavily, but they are not in the most easy to read form. I prefer them to the Alfred series. A good collection and the price is amazing. I would buy this again. "

Smp_stars50 Astounding collection of Chopin's shorter works

"Returning to piano after several years away, I've been discovering my skills and tastes as an adult. I was already familiar with the usual piano lesson Chopin pieces, but after exposure to a few unfamiliar, beautiful, new-to-me pieces, I thought I'd try this book. I'm now starting to appreciate Chopin's genius even more. There's a surprising but inevitable quality to these songs that makes them irresistable and modern. This book presents the wealth of songs clearly, completely, with useful suggested fingering. Some of the very difficult pieces I'm sure will take me years to master, but there's a fine selection of challenging but doable pieces on which to hone my skills. Essential for any past-intermediate level keyboard player. "

Smp_stars50 All Here

"It was nice to have one book with Chopin's Complete Preludes, Nocturnes and Waltzes. I have all or nearly all of the Preludes and Waltzes in other books, but appreciate getting all 21 Nocturnes in this volume. I was unfamiliar with about half of the Nocturnes and discovered that the less familiar Nocturnes are as beautiful as those few that are commonly included in Chopin collections. At the price, buy it if you don't have all 21 Nocturnes in your library. "

Smp_stars40 Great Amount for the price.

"Now this version is not perfect. There are a couple of extra added notes and things like that throughout but the music is great all the same. My Favorites are the nocturne in B-flat, and the nocturne in c# minor, and the grand valse brilliante."
