"I really wanted a play-along with no banjo track on it so I could use it practice the solos.."

"The backing CD to these classics was pathetic - I could have done better on my keyboard. The sheet music contained the basic tune - a little variety and improvisation would have been welcome. Don't judge a book by its glossy cover. A wast of money."

"My intermediate trombone students find this album and cd lots of fun and a challenge to learning major, minor, diminished and 7th chords. It's great because it can be used with instruments in Bb, Eb, and both treble and bass clefs. The tunes are old standards and although new to teenagers they become familiar after a few choruses. "

"CD contains accompaniment only...no examples of the written music being played. Also, all songs are half improv.. If you're anything but pro you'll probably be quite disappointed with this book."

"Grew up playing dixieland, put horn down 30 years and just picked it up again. This set best turn on in years! Ordering copies for friends. Like New Orleans when real pros played like Louie, Al,Pete,Earl Fatha Hines,Jack Teagarden,Turk Murphy,Clancy Hayes, etc. vs many kids today just making noise to make a buck. Many standards and you can do all solos you want or have a buddy jam with you. Friends couldn't keep from cuttin a rug when they heard it. Before jazz, dixieland ruled from 20s to the 50s. Bone, box, horn and banjoe still rock! Friends piano coach heard disk, trumpet teacher heard disk - both ordered. It's a gas to play along and you be the star! Great sounds, great fun for all! If you can listen to this and not tap your feet lay down, you've passed on!"
