  • February 17, 2012 Great guitar insights from a banjo's perspective

This book provides many useful examples and complete tunes of borrowed banjo techniques for us guitarists to employ. Some are in open tunings, and some standard. Definitely worthwhile for anyone wanting to explore and develop these techniques. Many of the greats like Chet Atkins did!!

    Difficulty Level:
  • February 26, 2011 Great Value

The previous review did not like that some of these songs were not in standard tuning. But the book is called "5-String Banjo Styles for 6-String Guitar", and so many people (including rock guitarist - Keith Richards) love to use both standard and the typical "banjo" style tuning on...

their 6 strings. So I love that this book includes songs that have been played, recorded and tab'ed out in both "banjo" and standard tuning. It's certainly not a book for beginners, but it is still a good book for those wanting to add a few new skills to their playing.
