Smp_stars10 False advertising

"I, too, was suckered into buying this book expecting at least the "gist" of the amazing arrangements on Buble's album, and was bitterly disappointed. Arranging for my own big band, I have resorted to ear to recreate the exciting charts that audiences love (and expect) to hear whenever the name "Buble" is mentioned. In fact, I would point any potential purchasers to take a look on the internet at the many guitar tab websites that provide basic chords over lyrics - these are actually more useful than this publication, because at least you are not being distracted by incorrect rhythms, key signatures etc"

Smp_stars50 Wonderful Collection!

"Yes ! I am aware that when I purchase a particular artist's sheet music, it is Never written out note for note as we hear on their recording. The arranger or arrangers are not always willing to share that information. I would suggest learning how to improvise and using your ear more if you are an intermediate to advanced player..All the songs in this collection are basic arrangements to be worked with. You cant expect a complete arrangement for the entire band.. Give the tune a part of yourself and express it the way it wants to come out...get help on how to arrange or more theory. dont be afraid to work at this as it will eventually happen.. Good Luck!"

Smp_stars10 Let The Buyer Beware of Hal Leonard Prod

"I agree with Kevin Harvey, not even one of the songs in the songbook even begins to reflect the arrangements on the Michael Bublé CD. This is also true of their John Pizzarelli "Bossa Nova" Songbook where even the lyrics aren't the same. I had better luck with the Jamie Cullum Book."

Smp_stars10 HAL LEONARD OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED

"As a pianist and vocalist for over 25 years, I used to expect only the highest quality in printed music from Hal Leonard. Unfortunately, this songbook does not live up to my expectations. Not even one of the songs in the songbook even begins to reflect the arrangements on the Michael Bublé CD. Instead, Hal Leonard has compiled standard, run-of-the-mill renditions of these songs and has chosen to market them as a Michael Bublé songbook. In my opinion, this borders on false advertising. Yes…all of the “titles” are there, but none of the actual Michael Bublé “arrangements” seems to have found its way into this songbook. This is a songbook with arrangements that are pedestrian, unexceptional, nondescript and quite unlike Michael Bublé, whose arrangements are innovative, extraordinary and remarkable. I must say that I am surprised that Mr. Bublé’s managers have allowed Hal Leonard to publish such trash. If Hal Leonard is not ashamed of this publication, they ought to be."

Smp_stars10 Typical Jazz Book

"It seems to be a common thing for all Jazz artists that create new flavors to old songs (Jane Monheit, Diana Krall, Michael Buble) to release song books that are nothing like their arrangements. The customer expects to buy music that sounds like it did on the CD. But within a book such as this, there is no sight of what was heard on the CD. All of Michael Buble's classy and wonderful arrangements heard on his debut album are not included. All Hal Lenord did was copy and paste the originals and put them in a new fancy book. The only way you could tell these were songs that Michael Buble sang is by looking at the cover. Very disappointing and highly unreccomended. Hopefully his sophmore album will learn from this horrible product which wanted nothing more than to make an easy buck."

Smp_stars30 Excellent Artist, Bad Sheet Music

"I was very disappointed to find that this sheet music book uses ancient photo copies of music. The song "Fever" is only a few pages long and does not have the crescendo or pitch change that the recording does. The song "Kissing A Fool" looks like it was taken from George Michael's release. It is written for tenor, when Buble is a baritone. So vocalists that are baritone will have a difficult time singing that song, as it has notes ABOVE the Treble Clef! That said, I will point out that the new songs written for Buble are in the book and those few songs do appear to be in the correct key and range. "
