"Being a teenager, I am far from perfect in my ability to play this piece perfectly. When I first started this piece, I practiced piano only because my parents wanted me to. This piece has taught me discipline and has advanced me far more than I ever thought possible. You will not find a better piece. I honestly believe Liszt and his 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody is the reason we have piano music and love it so much. This piece is not for the light at heart. This piece takes time, patience, and understanding. "

"Such a beautiful piece of music. It's so simple and yet it couldn't be more complex."

"A few years ago, I was given a version of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 and I enjoyed learning it, but when I would listen to recordings, I noticed that the version I had was only a modified version of the original. So, I ordered this piece again from Sheet Music Plus and I could not have been more pleased. There are actually markings on the score that were made by Liszt himself such as what fingering to take for tricky passages. There is also a recording of this piece performed by Maksim Mrvica which I highly recommend someone listening to. I have held the score in hand while listening to it and I can say that it is identical. I could not be more pleased!!!"

"Not the easiest piece of music, but well worth the effort to learn it - this was a nostalgic purchase recalling the famous Tom & Jerry cartoon ("Cat Concerto") in which Tom is the concert pianist with Jerry asleep inside the piano....very funny! It's a great piece, so persevere and you'll have fun!"

"As only a thirteen year old, this piece was a tad ambitious for me to take up, but, with the Lasan (first part) almost complete, it is one of the most stunning pieces I have ever heard. This piece is not for the faint hearted, or beginner, and be careful as you consider taking it up, because it is one of the MOST difficult pieces in existance, but it is worth the blood and tears, when you get it, as it is, like I have said beautiful. A good excersize to try before playing this is the Flight of the Bumble Bee, because it helps get your fingers in shape to play the incredibly difficult and immence scales in the Lassan, and most of the Friska. This is a great version. I also suggest getting a recording, as there are good ideas for articulation not mentioned in the music. Marc Andre Hamelin has a nice version on Youtube, but with a different cadenza that what is in the music. "

"When I played it years ago, I must have had an easier version. This appears to be the original. It is not easy but is beautiful"

"This song is amazing. It's all over the piano. It starts out slow then gets very fast and I love it. If you want to hear this song I suggest you go to virtualsheetmusic.com and listen to it before you buy it to see what your up against."

"I bought this edition because I like Alfred books, and I'm going to play the song in a high school competition. It is very nice, with background information and additional suggested fingerings. Interestingly, Liszt wrote detailed commands on how each section is to be played, so knowing some italian would help. This is the original version with 2 cadenzas written by Liszt (but there are better cadenzas out there). I would definitely recommend this as an addition to any pianist's collection; a fantastic piece when you work hard enough at it, and quite the amazing composer as well. P.S.- The front cover painting is interesting also- it includes such 19th century figures as George Sand, Gioacchino Rossini, Liszt himself, his lover (Countess Marie d'Agoult), Alexandre Dumas, and Niccolo Paganini."

"It was beyond my capability but I gave it to a music teacher who will enjoy it I am sure. I need a more simple arrangement, also looking for Valencia and Southern Nights, in books if you have them. I studied piano as a child now playing a Lowery Startdust. Enjoy it very much and hope to get better at it."

"This book is not for beginners. It is a good edition, however, I also would like the horowitz transcription but I can't seem to find it anywhere."
