"I am finding this book quite useful. Though the pieces are simple the theory demonstrated in each step is presented in a way that quickly teaches the student the concept(s) and in short order you are gratified with successful performance. The level of composition is also quite satisfying and some of the pieces are captivating enough to get me to improvise with added notation and measure rearrangement. I've gone ahead and bought the succeeding two volumes as I am sure these will give me sufficient confidence to explore intermediate repertoire. This series was recommended by my piano teacher. "

"The Adult All-In-One Course is the best available. It has been well researched to progess from beginner (book 1) through late intermediate (book 3) skills with varied music suitable for the adult student. I have used the books and their supplemental materials both for the new adult beginner and for adults who want to try again. The sequence of skills provides a thorough review and helps the adult assimilate assorted knowledge while building or rebuilding reading and playing skills in progressively harder keys and styles."

"I am very happy with my purchase of this book. It is exactly what I needed. Very easy to understand. Now, I have to get my fingers to remember where they are to go. Thank you very much. "

"I checked several other piano course books, and Alfred's is the most comprehensive. The book covers technique, lesson, theory, and popular repertoire of songs. I particularly like the choices of songs, which are appealing to the adult student. Overall, I am very pleased with my choice and expect to be able to provide piano students with complete music instruction."

"I used this book as a beginning piano student, and now use this book for the students I teach. I've looked at other books, but none are sequenced as well. It's enjoyable because so many of the songs featured in the book are songs that everyone already knows and have heard before. "

"This is a great book for me. In the past I've mostly played using the chord approach. This book has been a terrific stepping stone with practices and hand exercises. After one month, my overall playing as improved and my enjoyment level has gone up 200%. "

"I am a 63 year old total beginner, and find this to be an excellent book, but a little too fast paced at times. The beginning of the book went really well, but as I get further along I wish there were more songs after each lesson before hitting me with something new. "

"Great book for beginners! The music selection is a little juvenile, but it is still a great method for learning the basics."

"I'm an adult starting to take piano lessons. This is the book I'm using. It keeps me motivated because I'm actually playing music that sounds good. The book quickly has me using both hands and chords. I"

"I am a teenager who is being taught piano by my mom, who is the pianist for our church. I found that the book progresses very smoothly, leaves no gaps, and includes many enjoyable songs to play. (But some of the songs seem rather "immature," in that the titles are "Lavender's Blue" and "Raisins and Almonds." But I still recommend it to anyone wanting to learn piano."

" This book is a good one to use for teenagers who are starting piano. It moves fast, and has the student playing music in a very short time. It is also good for students who can read music and have background in another instrument. I am pleased with it. "

"you can learn to play the piano easily. They are lesson pages ,theory pages and technic pages. Also, there are a lot of know songs that you can play. "

"As a piano teacher, I love the Alfred series of books, especially for beginners. All of the information you need is in there. This adult book is excellent! Fast-paced, so it's not boring. And I love how it introduces chords so quickly. Most students who complete the course should be able to play basic classical, praise and worship, etc. music, or at least pick out the melody and a few chords. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially those who have never touched a piano before."

"This is a very good book in that it progresses at just the right rate for the beginner. It's instruction to notes comprehension/site reading in the beginning of the book is it's best part. but I'd learn theory from a theory book. "

" I have always wanted to play the piano, I had had some lessons bt gave up. This book made playing the piano seem easy! Because I had previous experience in music and the piano, i went through this book in about 4 weeks. I recommend skimming through after you're done to make sure you've gotten everything down thouroghly."

"This is a great book for adults who pick things up quickly. It is a better choice than the Adult course, as all the supporting material is included in this book. For adults who need a bit slower pace, check out "Play Piano Now" by the same authors. Same basic approach, but more material on each new topic. "Play Piano Now" splits this book into two parts, which is a God-send for most of us who learn a bit more gradually. After PPN book 2, continue with the Adult All in One level 2."

"This is a great beginner book for adults. I have been making great progress."

"Don't waste your money. I bought this and the Faber adult course to see which one fit my learning style better. This can't compare. If you're an adult who wants to learn get the Faber series. I could have just used my kids level 1 books instead of getting this Alfred book. Same songs or similar."

"And I should know. I think I own them all. But this was the one that got me started, kept me going and taught me theory all at the same time (and I didn't even know I was learning theory at the time). I have now advanced beyond this book and recommend Levels 2 and 3 also. The accompanying Greatest Hits books are also excellent and challenge you as you breeze through the lesson books. The CDs help you get better and faster and the finger exercises recommended are excellent--don't be tempted to skip them. They may be slow at first, but keep doing them everyday to limber up and pretty soon you can do them as fast as the CD. Have fun."

"I am a middle-aged adult who knew nothing about music. I have been able to go through and play everything, so far, in this book with no problems. I never knew it could be so easy. I've had the book for one month and I've devoted one to two hours per day and I'm three-quarters through the book. I actually could've gone through it faster, but wanted to practice longer with each piece. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to play the piano or keyboard. I can't wait to begin Level 2."

"I am a "middle-aged" adult, and for years wanted to learn to play an instrument and be able to read music. I started out with the violin because I really liked the instrument, but didn't continue because it was too much at once. Anyhow, I recently picked up the Alfred's Piano course, in conjunction with a keyboard purchase, mainly to teach me how to read music. The piano was a learning tool more than anything. But this book has sparked my interest in the piano. I'm actually having a lot of fun "playing" the lessons. Overall, this is a great book that combines lessons, theory, and technique.. It's exactly what I was looking for. If you order the book, I'd recommend getting the book/CD combo."

"This book is a great one for the older begginer. I went through the old "level 1" years ago, it was great then, it's better now! They've added new pages on "Reasons to keep your hands curved" and special exercises for each finger, etc., Etc - They've improved an already great book!"
— Anonymous from Altus, Oklahoma on September 29, 2003
"I have used this method with 3 adult students. I like the pace with which it moves and having theory and technique combined with lessons keeps them interested. I will use the all-in-one methods with all my adult students in the future."
