Books 1 and 2 of the 335 Selected Melodious, Progressive and Technical Studies are a 'must have' for any student serious about becoming a top notch horn player. Both books contain numerous etudes and solo works by top 19th century horn virtuosos and teachers. Gallay, Kling and Belloli were all...

superb horn players who left a legacy of solo works and etudes for succeeding horn players. Their reputations and works are well known among horn players and thus possessing theses books buys at a single swoop, a good selection of their work. 335 Selected Melodious, Progressive and Technical Studies contains not only the works of these virtuosos, but it is also 'the best' as opposed to being 'filler' pieces. The books also contain reasonable copies of well known horn concertos and some other works for horn and ensemble. Again, no horn player should be without these books. I am on my third copies, the previous ones being worn out.
