"If you liked the movies, you'll like playing the music from it. I wish there were more than just the few songs from each! Most of the songs are pretty easy to pick up- not too easy and not too hard. "

"I like this a lot. I had to practise a lot to get it right. So this is music for those of you who are intermediate +"
— Karro from Norway on March 1, 2009
"THE MUSIC IN THIS BOOK IS VERY PRETTY AND TAKES YOU BACK! IT MAKES YOU FEEL SOPHISTICATED JUST PLAYING IT! LOL THIS IS A GREAT BOOK, AND I RECOMMEND IT TO ANY ONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR THAT OLD SIMPLE CHARM!"
— RAE from LA on February 11, 2009
"Are your students always asking to play music they hear from a movie? This is an interesting collection representing newer styles of movie scoring transcribed tastefully and particularly for the Jane Austen movie fan. A real find."
— Doris Mady from West Linn, OR on January 9, 2009
"We really enjoy playing this music. It really takes you back to the Jane Austen time period. Most of the pieces are fairly easy to play with a little practice."
— Chris from Lake Forest, CA on November 20, 2008
"I was hoping the sheet music was closer to the actually music played in the movies, mainly Sense & Senibility and Pride & Prejudice. "

"With continued interest in all things Jane Austen, it is wonderful to find a shop that caters for interest in sheet music from the films and the Regency period."
— Fiona on October 18, 2008
"Evocative music with beautiful melodic lines but uneven leveling. Italian Aria, All the Better for Her, and Tristesse are about Level 2 with some added harmonic 7ths and octaves. Persuasion maintains a broken triplet line throughout but the level of difficulty rises with 2 against 3 using even eighths against the triplets. Large LH leaps in Canon Collins moves the level up to 4. Despite uneven leveling between the arrangements this is a beautiful collection. Go for it Jane Austen fans!"

"I am very pleased with "Jane Austen's World" because, although recently composed, it invokes the style of the time. It also brings back memories of the movies, which I also enjoyed. If I could change anything, I would wish that the arrangements were just a little more challenging. One of them is almost beginner level."

"These are very easy versions of pretty songs from the film scores. NO LYRICS, unfortunately, but some of them are not available elsewhere. As I said, these are easy versions, although some may actually have been this easy in the the films, too (Marianne wasn't playing brillinat concertos - she was playing pretty little tunes). I am playing these on harp, and I find that these are the perfect springboard to improvise... which is what good musicians did in those days... so learn the easy version, then take risks and add your own embellishments. (Minus one star because of no lyrics.)"

"I bought this for my daughter, and I love listening to her play the songs. I re-live all the Jane Austen movies every time she plays. Wonderful!"
— C.H. from Cleveland, OH on June 3, 2008
"at Von Maur, an upscale department store, I heard a pianist playing these pieces from the Austen movies on a grand piano. I moved closer and saw that she was using this book. I found it at Sheetmusicplus.com and love playing these pieces."
— Julia from Jackson, Michigan on May 27, 2008
"I love this book of music. Not too difficult. Some pieces take a little practice (I am intermediate player). Music sounds really pretty -- I find myself playing these pieces quite a bit. "
— Karen from Dayton, OH on May 21, 2008
""Jane Austen's World" contains many best-loved tunes from popular contemporary movies. The music is written in a manner that provides the intermediate player with a full, rich sound. The pieces are remarkably close to the original movie scores without being too complex to play. This collection is truly a treasure. "
— Greta Crank from Grayson, KY on April 25, 2008
"I found this music to be very easy to play. Definitely for beginners. If you are looking for a more fleshed out version, this isn't it, but there is a version called Jane Austen:The Music which is very good for the intermediate player. "

"After waiting quite some time to get the book, due to its popularity I suppose, I was rather disappointed with the contents. I was expecting something of a higher skill level, as well as longer pieces. I'm updating my collection of songs for use in weddings and as 'dinner music' for special events, and found that only two or three of these come close to what I'm looking for. Other people might find this just what they want, however, so check it out."
— Judi Buller from Olympia, Wa on April 23, 2008
"I have to agree with many of the other reviews that for the average pianist, these are rather simple arrangements and very short, but they are lovely little tunes. The P&P sounds just like the Colin Firth movie version."
— Anonymous from North Carolina on April 23, 2008
"The only disappointment I had was that I had hoped it would have the lyrics with the songs - and not music only. Perhaps I didn't read about it closely enough."
— Anonymous on January 24, 2008
"This was the perfect book to get me playing again. After lessons all through childhood, it was nice to have some familiar tunes that weren't overwhelmingly difficult. After learning all the pieces I am wishing they were a bit more complex, but still love it. Thank you!"
— Anonymous from San Diego, CA on October 14, 2007
"I found this music to be moderately difficult. I enjoy the challenge this music provides, but I have other, easier, music as a supplement."
— Anonymous from Omaha, NE on June 18, 2007
"I'm actually a violinist who was looking for wedding prelude music that required no additional accomp. The bride & groom really liked film score sounds and so I ended up buying all sorts of different piano scores and finding pieces to fit the mood. I actually made medleys out of 3 of the 4 movie scores within. Worked perfectly. As piano music - some of the tunes within are VERY simplistic and short. If you are comfortable enough to make up your own bridges and turn them into medleys, then the songs could become more than 1-2 minutes each. Personally, I think that this is exactly as advertised. THEMES from the movies. Nothing more than that."
— Laura from Indianapolis, IN on June 18, 2007
"I bought this book primarily for the song, "My Father's Favorite." I am probably intermediate to advanced,so I found this music fairly easy and not at all challenging. If you are a more advanced player, I suggest you buy this song as it is sold seperatley, and is also 4 pages longer and written for a more advanced player. But it is suitable for a beginner, the music is really pretty anyway...."

"The music is fun to play and simple. I had to write in the fingering in a few places. "
— Anonymous from sanger, ca on March 1, 2007
"I have played some of these pieces and they are very beautiful, not too hard to play, and quite entertaining. I would highly recommend them to any music lover."

"This is a simply marvelous buy...my parents got it for me for Christmas and now I know almost all the songs. My father's favorite is by far my favorite and the main title to the old Pride and Prejudice. If you love any Jane Austen movies, do get this . "
— Melanie Clayton from Wetumpka, AL on February 16, 2007
"I love this book! It has pieces from most of my favorite Jane Austen Movies. I only regret it doesn't have ALL the music from ALL the movies! The arrangement of "My Father's Favorite", while simple and easily sight-read, is still one of the best I've seen. Most of the arrangements are simple and learned quickly, with a few that present a challenge (3 against 2 rhythm etc.). on the whole, a delightful book!"
— Anna Perry from Montgomery, AL on February 5, 2007
"This is a brilliant book - the pieces are all really sweet but that is exactly how all the music is in the films. It's beautifully arranged and sits under the fingers really well, even for me as a simple pianist! Totally recommend it! "
— Jane Lucille from North Cray on January 11, 2007
"Their packaging is very good they make sure it doesn't get ruined. They tell when they have sent and it came in excellent condition. I am learning grade three at the moment and I found it fairly easy to understand. I would definately buy from them again."
— Kelsey from Naracoorte S.A. on October 29, 2006
" This lovely book is filled with delightful music from the 1990s Jane Austen films. The songs from 'Emma' and A&E's 'Pride & Prejudice' are very enjoyable. I am an advanced pianist, and found these to be a joy to play. I would say that an intermediate pianist could handle these, but they are not too easy for one who is advanced. My personal favorite is the theme from 'P &P'; it sounds just like the real deal!"

"I've had this book for several years and I've seen all the movies and I've always adored the music! I am a very advanced piano player, and the arrangements definitely are simple, but beautiful. Anyone no matter how advanced can enjoy this book, the music is all gorgeous, and I play it all the way through quite often. More advance pianists would enjoy the movie music books with more challenging arrangements. I can't wait for the NEW Pride and Prejudice music book to come out! "
— JH from NY on March 7, 2006
"The music is very pretty and easy to play, especially the theme for Emma and the music from Sense and Sensibility. I wasn't really looking for a challenging piece, so this was just what I wanted. The songs are so nice and pretty, I always get compliments. I would reccomend this to anyone, even more advanced students."
— Elizabeth Grace from Alpharetta, GA on February 24, 2006
""My father's favorite" in it is so simple and short. (It's just one page!!) If you want "My father's favorite"'s full version especially, you'd better buy "Patrick Doyle: My Father's Favorite-$3.95". "
— Jung from South Korea on June 5, 2004
"I am not a proficient piano player but I managed to really enjoy the pieces in this collection. Emma and My Father's Favourite are great arrangements for instant gratification. I've seen better arrangements for one of the songs in another format but this is a nice group of lovely solos for the rookie piano player."

" I love Jane Austen - the books, movies & music. I've really enjoyed this book, the pieces are all really "pretty" sounding and are taken from the movies. Overall they are very easy - the only one I'd rate as Intermediate would be the "Theme" to Pride & Prejudice. I don't have any complaints with this book - just personal dissapointment. I was hoping the pieces would be harder, rather then the simple sweetness. I also wanted songs from the OTHER Emma movie, (which is my favorite of the two), Mostly I didn't like that in Simplifiying the songs, many didn't sound like the movie - similiar, but not quite right. Over all though - Jane Austen fans, this book is great - get it! "
— C. Hager from Oklahoma on September 22, 2003
"the songs from emma are quite easy to play. the songs from sense and sensability, and persuasion are a little harder but still fairly simple. however the songs from pride and prejudice are much more difficult. over all the songs are at about an intermediate level, and they are very beautiful."
— amanda from orem, UT on August 12, 2003
"We were excited when we heard about this book from a friend, because we've seen a couple of the movies and we loved the songs. The songs sound just like the ones on the movies. "
— Anonymous from Fulton, NY on May 9, 2003
"Even those who aren't familiar with Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, or Persuasion will love this collection. These songs are light and beautiful; they're moving. When you play them, you'll play them with feeling and the audience will be moved. I highly recommend buying this book and having a fun time playing these simple, yet touching pieces."
— Jessica from MA on March 11, 2001
"It was a beautiful collection"
— Anonymous from Victoria, British Columbia on January 5, 2001
"This is a great collection of songs from the movies Emma, Sense & Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, and Persuasion. The only one missing is Mansfield Park. It's also fairly easy to sight read."
