In Praise of Pirates

"The 2002 Schirmer edition of the Gilbert and Sullivan THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE captures the best of this G & S musical treasure. As edited by Bryceson Treharne, this edition best serves all of the creative team planning a production. With quite helpful background information condensed expertly, this particular score should prove to be a favorite of musical artists.Schirmer's score is a must for the G&S fan everywhere."

This "Pirates" is the best yet

"This has been the most complete score to date that I have ever encountered. It had songs that were not included in any other versions I have used. The students were delighted as was I"

Used for community theater performance

"We bought one copy of this book for each of our principle players, the directors, accompanists, and stage manager. Because these volumes are soft-bound, we had several of the copies trimmed and spiral-bound at a local printer. That was especially helpful for directors and accompanists. The printing is large and clear, which made it easy to use."

Easy Pirates of the Cornwall coast

These "Pirates" will steal your heart...

"The fifth operetta from Gilbert and Sullivan. The characters are complex and delightful and the music is terrific. Only "The Gondoliers" can rival "Pirates'" brilliant score. Several terrific female roles, numerous songs, and delightful plot and a terrific ending. Sure to please all!"
