  • January 21, 2009 Easy to sight read, and good for a casual approach.

I love Bach and Baroque music so I got this for an easy sight read when we are not working on more difficult pieces. We enjoyed it even though it was a bit dry. It is nice to have around for anyone to sit down with a friend and play...

  • April 27, 2002 Good edition of J.C.'s 4 hand music

This is the standard edition of these sonatas by Wilhelm Weismann, first published by Peters in 1943. According to the listing in "New Grove," this is all the 1 keyboard/4-hands music by J.C. Bach (there is also a 2 piano sonata). The volume consists of Op. 15...

no. 6 in C, Op. 18 no 5 in A, and Op. 18 no 6 in F. This is pleasant rather than "deep" music and, with some early Mozart works, constitutes some of the first pieces in this genre. Recommended for those interested in this composer or this period.
