The 3 pieces are relatively easy to play. The melodies are delicate and melancholy and quite lovely.

  • March 10, 2007 Satie's meditation

This composition is a kind of meditation. I can say that technically isn't difficult but it asks from the performer to be expressive .Satie is minimalist. He had composed many pieces with a little bit of material but with emotions and serenity. This composition can bring your peace and...

    make you feel...real.

  • March 07, 2003 Impressionism at its best....

I only recently discovered Erik Satie, and I'm extremely glad that I did. I ordered this piece mainly for Gnossiene No. 3, but I'm also looking forward to learning Numbers 1 and 2. I sat down and played No. 3 pretty close to perfectly my first time, and...

I don't play too much any more, so no experienced pianist will have much trouble. I love the musical remarks that Satie has, usually referring to tempo and dynamics...for example, "Arm yourself with perspicacity," "how to achieve absolutely nothing," and "open your head." Don't you love the Impressionists?
