  • August 19, 2014 very nicely arranged

For the intermediate, to late-intermediate, pianist, this great collection of 20th C. Christmas music will be easy enough for you, without being "too easy." (I just received this collection in the mail today) ~ and I am quite pleased! ... Pick it up and sight-read it immediately for much enjoyment...

! Rich chords. A *jazzy* element interjected throughout. (With room enough for ad lib). You will find your shoulders rockin' and your hips swayin' in no time! {In a nutshell}: just look at the table of contents. Is your Christmas repertoire really complete without these tunes? ~ You will have fun with this!

  • May 04, 2011 Delightful, well arranged music.

Very playable yet with the full, rich harmonies we associate with these songs. I like it and my students like it.

  • December 05, 2009 Original Arrangements, Fun to Play

First, be aware that there are two versions of this book - this review is for SMP level 6, there is a book at SMP level 3 that has the same cover and same song list. The simpler version is at URL http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/25-Top-Christmas-Songs...

-Easy-Piano/2939169 . Now back to reviewing this (intermediate version). Contrary to other reviews, the lyrics are included. Most of the songs are familiar, so even if you're sight-reading, you know what's coming up next ;-) Even if you don't think you can handle SMP 6, this means that you can fake it (by dropping cords, etc) and still sound like a semi-pro lounge lizard. They appear to be original scores rather than arrangements. Most are from 1940-1960. They are fun to play, and fun to have friends gather around the piano and sing along. I highly recommend this book.

I like this book because it has a lot of popular Christmas songs; however, be warned that it doesn't have the words to the songs.

I bought this on my way home for the holidays and truly enjoyed playing the music. Just difficult enough to sound professional but also easy enough to just sit down and site read.
