Poor binding

Fugue XXIV immediately started to come apart from the binding, and soon it completely fell out of the booklet. This is very distressful.

Lovely music with poor support

Was a birthday gift for my husband. Wonderful music, dreadful binding. Started to come apart after one day of use.

This book was made to be spiral bound...

The Shostakovitch preludes and fugues are brilliant, imaginative, and diverse in character and mood. There are glittering etude-like pieces, funeral marches, lyrical pieces, and grandiose fugues that are colossal in scope. These pieces are unjustly neglected in the standard repertoire. Profuse with Russian idioms, virtuosity, and ingenious fugues, these pieces...
