2 In Nomines - Score and parts by Mundy. For 5 instruments. Miscellaneous Music. English Instrumental Music. Score and Parts. Published by London Pro Musica (MM.LPMEM17).
These two In nomine settings by William Mundy are almost certainly early examples of the genre: both are relatively unusual in having the cantus firmus in the tenor part. William Mundy (1529-1591) seems to have worked for much of his life as a singer in various London musical establishments, including Westminster Abbey, St. Pauls Cathedral and the Chapel Royal. - BT.
About English Instrumental Music
c. 1600. Some of the English music of this period is suitable only for viols but there's plenty written in a style that makes sense on all kinds of instruments. That is what is produced in this series. Available as score and parts.
