  • April 29, 2009 Pay attention to what you're buying.

This book has been arranged as a sort of precursor to the Well-Tempered Clavier, so there are a lot of transposed pieces and the order is all screwed up. It's not what Bach originally intended. If your teacher told you to go and get the Little Preludes and...

Fugues, just ask what book he or she uses or used and get that one.

This work wasn't Bach idea, in fact there are many transposed pieces, as well of pieces composed for other instruments, the formula of prelude-fugue in this book is artificial, Bach write them in separated form and some are not of JS Bach but his sons. So I recommend...

Two Part Inventions, truly realized by JS Bach for beginners, instead.
