"Prin is TOO small because of too many lines per page. Porgy and Bess not included, along with Summer Time. These are the old tin pan alley arrangements and chords, no upgrading at all!"

"A wide variety of all the wonderful popular Gershwin numbers that we all love. All of the piano/vocal/guitar seem to be the original release. The ones I already had matched note for note the Gershwin sheet music already in my collection. The only non-vocal I was familiar with was Rhapsody in Blue, and I was disappointed that it was a version arranged by someone else, not the full piano version as written by George Gershwin. However, if you're not quite advanced on the piano, this may be what you want, as the original version is difficult for most pianists. There's a smattering of Gershwin piano solos. Whether these are the originals or rearranged versions I don't know. I don't intend to use them, so I didn't really look at them. For me, I'm very pleased at having all my favorite Gershwin piano/vocals, in what looks like the original versions."

"Great lyricist, too. I use this for most of my voice students. Very nice arrangements."

"lots of songs to decide from, but overall the arrangements were easy and seemed more to be for accompanying a vocalist. if you are looking for interesting gershwin solo piano, try "gershwin's improvisations for solo piano" or an alicia zizzo transcription."

"I purchased "Great Gershwin Classics" for my husband, who is a retired musician,( although musicians never really retire!). He is now 81, and has been a disciple of Gershwin since he was 12 years old. He considers the book first class, both in layout, printing and most of all the arrangments. Needless to say he is delighted, and has introduced our granddaughter who is 17 andquite an accomplished pianist, to the delights of Gershwin"

"Classic Gershwin tunes arranged for piano solo, easily embellished by an advanced player to become a nice accompaniment to vocals."

"I was able to sit and play the pieces I've heard through the years from many different movies and records that my parents' used to play on their stereo."

"I liked the selection, which included some excellent songs that have rarely been available, including "They Can't Take That Away from Me," and "I've Got a Crush On You." I like the arrangements: they are probably the original sheet music releases, and they include Chord symbols to make it easier for advanced pianists to improvise."

"THese arrangements are great for the beginner to play. THe are not too difficult, but a beginner can get a feel for jazz right away. "

"Beautiful collection of the greatest Gershwin classics. "

"This book is far from what I was expecting. I was wanting the original arrangements of Gershwin's songs, but these were so watered down and easy. Don't waste your money if you want true Gershwin."

"This is a wonderful collection of one of our best composers works. I'll be playing these arrangements for years to come."

"I bought this book a couple of years ago, and i have to admit that it has been one of the best investments i've ever done. Imagine that you can actually perfom as Ira or George did, i mean, it's awesome. I have nithing more to say but thanks for releasing this book to market. We happy costumers really appreciate that. Thanks."

"I just had to write something about this book. If you enjoy the music of Gershwin, especially the lush and complex piano chords/jazz sounds, you will love this book. It brings alive and to your own "ivory-fingertips" some very memorable songs, and even some obscure ones and some portions of the classical pieces adapted for piano. I can't get enough of this music--it sounds so fabulous on the piano. It also contains guitar chords and vocal lines, of course. If you would like to play Gershwin, buy this book! Some of the rhythms and chords are complex, but if you are moderate to advanced in your ability, and know the tunes, you'll have a great time with this one! "

"I received this as a present for Christmas. I wouldn't recommend buying it. It's not in the correct keys, and it's not the correct music. It has the vocal part in the music. If that's what you're looking for, then go for it, but from a pianist's view, and also looking at it from a vocalist's view, it's not a wise investment."
