  • January 03, 2014 Not For Your Intermediate Hornist/Tubist

This music is extremely difficult. The horn part is moderately advanced, but can be played. However, the tuba part is for your professional tubist. Like, this isn't even for a BBb Tuba. This is more for an Eb or F or trombone, but it would still be high. The...

songs are pretty, but if you do not have a amazing tubist/trombonist/euphoniumist, then you'll be an unhappy hornist. Plus, most of the songs are heavy on the sharps and flat tubas naturally do not read sharps. Therefore, it's terrible if you're a high school group of young adults wanting to do something cool for a performance, but it's perfect for a professional soloist. Good luck, tuba players. I've warned you (Hornists, too.)

Well, these ARE duets for tuba and horn... so it's hard to expect them not to be a little weird. A little on the modern side for me, but they're all right. Some of the pieces are fairly difficult, others intermediate level.
