I've been studying cello for about 7 years and just recently started doing these caprices. While they are about the same difficulty as the Popper High School of Cello Playing and the Duport Etudes, they are much more lyrical and fun to play! I recommend getting the cd The...

Road to Cello Playing recorded by Janos Starker. In it he plays a few of these caprices as well as a number of other studies. That cd truly made me appreciate the value of etudes while displaying starker's truly remarkable technical skill.
