"I played this piece in college as a music major, and it is one of my favorite pieces. The third movement is technically challenging and the whole piece is filled with emotion. Any flutist should include Hindemith's Sonata in their repetoire."

"This is an excellent piece. It has been required in many flute competitions, and has a lot of feeling in it. It does have some beautiful, sorrowful parts to it, as well as some cheerful, and as other people have said, clownish parts. But the "Marsch" of the 3rd mvt is one of the most aggressive works i have heard for flute. this is one of the most complete pieces out there that allows us flutists to be evaluated in all aspects. "

"I have been playing flute for a few years now and was studying other works by Hindemith, so I decided to work on this piece. I love hindemith and early twentieth century music, and this work is full of early twentieth century charachter. This is a great piece filled with little bits of satire and fits the flute very well. A must study work. "

"This piece is excellent and intriguing! The music was written during WWII and you can hear the sorrow that happened and the clownlike, unorganized Nazis. It is my favorite piece and I loved learning it."
