  • August 12, 2008 In Depth Discussion of Afro-Caribbean Jazz

I don't know any other book that discusses Salsa music in such detail as this one. Most other books only tell you about the clave, montunos and tumbao. But this one holds detailed information about the history of different styles as well as all the little nuances of each...

flavor. Alone the chapter about different claves and their application is longer than other books on the whole topic :o). I would recommend this book to anyone seriously interested in studying salsa music on the piano.

  • April 28, 2007 Fantastic!

This book has all you need to start playing real salsa songs. Note though that it's just the pieces of a puzzle and you have to piece it together. Of course there is much more to learn, but as a start it's excellent. The best salsa book I...

    have tried...
