How to See Shipping Costs
Our site will calculate shipping charges for you automatically early in the order process, and you don't need to buy anything to see these charges. After you've put everything you want in the "shopping cart", simply enter your zip code or country in the space provided near the bottom of the page, then click the "Click Here to Proceed" button. The next page will automatically show shipping charges and choices. All shipping costs are in US dollars. Shipping costs are determined by weight and also include a handling fee.

$2.99 Budget Shipping
The $2.99 Budget Shipping is our standard flat rate shipping option, and there is no minimum to meet before you qualify. To take advantage of $2.99 Budget Shipping for any USA order, just choose $2.99 Budget Shipping as your shipping option during checkout.

$2.99 Budget Shipping details:

  • Applies only to delivery to U.S. addresses including Alaska and Hawaii.
  • $2.99 Budget Shipping is not the default shipping option, so customers must choose this option during checkout.
  • We reserve the right to discontinue or change $2.99 Budget Shipping at any time.

Note: $2.99 Budget Delivery will take 1 to 3 weeks to reach you after we have mailed your order. Add this delivery time to your cart's pre-shipment lead time to estimate the total amount of time before you will receive your package.

What "Lead time" Means
"Lead time" is an estimate of the amount of time it takes before an order is shipped from our warehouse. Products marked "Usually ships in 24 hours" are generally here at our warehouse when you place your order. Products with a longer estimated lead time come to us from suppliers/publishers located elsewhere. Each estimated lead time reflects our experience with how long it normally takes for that product to arrive at our warehouse from its supplier after you place your order. Since we ship everything from a single order in a single package, refer to the estimated lead time for the slowest product in your shopping cart to see how long we expect it to be before your order can ship from our warehouse. Add this time to your chosen delivery time to get the estimated total time. Please note: We reserve the right to create separate shipments for a single order because of unexpected changes in product availability. If we do split your order into separate shipments, your shipping charges will remain the same and you will not be charged extra for this service.

How Long it Will Take to Get Your Order
Some products come to us from suppliers located elsewhere, so different products take different amounts of time before we can ship them from our warehouse. Therefore each product description in our catalog includes an estimated lead time. To determine how long it will take for your package to arrive at your door, take the product with the longest estimated lead time and add that estimate to the selected shipping time. For example, if you order a product marked "Ususally ships in 24 hours" and select 3 to 7 business day shipping, the estimated total delivery time to receive your package will be:

lead time + Selected shipping time = Total delivery time
24 hours
+ 3 to 7 business
days
= 4 to 8 business
days

If your shipment is going outside the USA, time spent in your country's customs and postal system adds to this estimate.

If you buy more than one product, then the product with the longest estimated lead time determines when your package will leave our warehouse. For instance, an order that combines a "Ususally ships in 24 hours" product with a "Pre-shipment lead-time: 3 to 5 business days" product will be shipped in one package 3 to 5 business days AFTER the order is placed on our website.

You can have products with a shorter estimated "lead time" sent to you separately (and sooner) by entering different orders. For example, make one complete order for products with a shorter estimated lead time. Then, after completing that order, return to shopping and make an entirely separate order for products with a longer estimated lead time. We will ship the products in the first order in one package, and then ship the products in the second order later in a separate package.

Unexpected Changes in Availability
Occasionally we are notified by suppliers after an order is made that certain products are not yet released, delayed, or discontinued. We will inform you by E-mail or on the invoice with your package if any products are cancelled or delayed.

If a product in your order is temporarily unavailable, that product is automatically delayed for later shipment, with the remaining products shipped on schedule. Credit card orders will not be charged for the delayed product until that product is shipped. There is no extra shipping charge for additional shipments due to delays.

If a product in your order is no longer available, that product is automatically cancelled, with the remaining products shipped on schedule. Credit cards will only be charged for shipped products and shipping charges will be reduced if a cancellation makes this appropriate. Orders paid for by check or money order will receive check refunds.

Our Sales Tax Policy
We are required to collect sales tax on purchases shipped to California and New York, states where we currently have business operations. For orders shipped to California, tax is calculated based on the merchandise subtotal. For orders shipped to New York, tax is calculated based on both the merchandise total and the shipping cost.

Tax-Exempt Individuals
If tax was charged on your order and you would like to claim tax-exempt status, you can request an adjustment for the amount of sales tax charged by sending in documentation of your tax-exempt status. After placing your order through our website, please fax a copy of your tax-exempt certificate along with your order number to the attention of the Customer Service department at (510) 420-7190. After we make the adjustment to your order, we will send you a confirmation e-mail.

USA Shipping Choices
The longest estimated "lead time" for products in an order is added to the shipping times below to calculate total delivery time. To see shipping costs and total delivery time estimates, put items in your shopping cart and follow the instructions on the shopping cart page - you do not have to place an order to see this information.

BUDGET DELIVERY - US Postal Service
Usually takes 1 to 3 weeks to reach you AFTER leaving our warehouse.

STANDARD DELIVERY - shipped by a variety of carriers
Usually takes 3 to 7 business days to reach you AFTER leaving our warehouse.

2 BUSINESS DAY AIR - Airborne Express/DHL
Usually takes 2 business days to reach you AFTER leaving our warehouse. Airborne Express does not deliver to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

NEXT BUSINESS DAY AIR - Airborne Express/DHL
Usually takes one business day to reach you AFTER leaving our warehouse. Airborne Express does not deliver to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

Non-USA Shipments
Length of final delivery depends on the typical speed of mail delivery in your country and the time required for products to move through your country's customs or import tax system. The longest estimated "lead time" for products in an order is added to the shipping times below to calculate total delivery time. To see shipping costs and total delivery time estimates, put items in your shopping cart and follow the instructions provided -- you do not have to place an order to see this information. All shipping costs are in US dollars.

BUDGET AIR/GROUND - Postal Mail
Ships by air to your country's postal system, then by ground to final destination. Usually takes 3 to 6 weeks to reach your country's national postal system AFTER leaving our warehouse.

STANDARD AIR - Postal Mail
Ships by air to your country's postal system, then by 1st class to final destination. Usually takes 1 to 3 weeks to reach your country's national postal system AFTER leaving our warehouse.

EXPRESS AIR - Airborne Express/DHL Mail
Usually takes 2 to 4 business days to reach your country AFTER leaving our warehouse. Airborne Express does not deliver to Post Office Boxes.

Customs or Import Taxes
Packages delivered in the USA never have any customs or imports taxes. Packages delivered outside the USA, however, may incur customs or import taxes. We have no control over whether your country will charge customs or import taxes when the package reaches your country. We write on customs forms what is inside each package as well as the cost of your order. The person who receives the order is responsible for paying all costs associated with moving their package through their country's customs or import tax system, and we cannot make refunds to customers who do not receive shipments because they have declined to pay these costs. We recommend that you contact your local customs or import office for further information on what these charges may be before you make an order.

How to Handle Returns
You can return any product to us within 30 days of delivery. See our Satisfaction Guarantee for terms and details.

When returning a product, include a copy of your packing invoice and mail it to:

We will issue your refund soon after receiving your return at our warehouse. We'll also refund shipping charges if your return is due to a defect or our error. If you believe this is the case, just describe the defect or error in writing on the packing invoice included with the return. This way our returns department will be able to make the correct refund if it's appropriate.
