Detailed Description

Cantate Deo (from Water Music Suite) composed by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759). Arranged by Becki Slagle Mayo. For 2-part voices and piano (with optional trumpet). New Horizons Series. Christmas, Concert. Octavo. Published by Heritage Music Press (LO.15-2162H).

The Hornpipe movement from Handel's "Water Music Suite" has been creatively adapted for voices, complete with an original text: "Cantate Deo, Sing alleluia, lift your voice and sing with joy forevermore." The contrapuntal texture and imitative vocal lines combine with the piano and trumpet to create this festive, joyful gem from the Baroque period.
