Terry was also commissioned by Disney to do the music for this movie, but the directors, producers, and Walt himself did not like the 'darkness' of the music, and took him off of The Jungle Book project and hired the Sherman brothers to redo the music for the movie. However, the directing crew liked this song, The Bare Necessities so much that they decided to keep this song as part of the movie.
This song is a fun, bouncy song and on a level that will be playable by most, from high school level, to more advanced chamber groups. The majority of the songs original melody and phrasing has been retained, but a twist has been added to make it more enjoyable for both the players and the listeners of this arrangement.
