Published by Drake Mabry (A0.799421).Ceremony II was written for the French virtuoso Emmanuel Sejourne. The work presents the vibraphone with an astonishing array of instrumental timbres. It uses a number of contemporary techniques including playing with a double bass bow, harmonics, note glissandi, playing with the pad of the fingers and the finger nails etc. The five movements may be played all together or individually. Some of the various moods presented are meditative, fast virtuoso, light and wistful, and questioning. The total duration is 19 minutes. This is a manuscript score, thus the reduced price.
