This CHURCH CHOIR FAVORITE combines the Shaker tune, “Simple Gifts” with a beautiful countermelody, creating a lyrical description of the love of God. Verse one, sung by the women, details the simple evidences of God’s love. The men sing the second verse to the the tune “Simple Gifts,” but with new lyrics, describing the the “gift” the Savior gave to us through his atonement. Both men and women combine their respective parts together in the third verse, in a magnificent, culminating finale. It can also be easily adapted for 2 part women’s voices, or 2 part men’s choir.
