Sonata #1

By Pietro Baldassare

Look Sonata #1
Detailed Description

Sonata #1 (Trumpet Feature). Composed by Pietro Baldassare (1690-1768). Arranged by David Marlatt. For Brass Quintet. Brass Ensemble - Quintet; Masterworks; Part(s); Score. Eighth Note Publications. Trumpet feature. Baroque. Duration 00:06:45. Published by Eighth Note Publications (AP.81-BQ23137).

This Sonata by Pietro Baldassare was originally written for cornetto (trumpet) strings and continuo. The colourful and contrapuntal first movement moves into an almost vocal slow movement before ending with a bright dance-like final section. This arrangement has been transposed down a step from the key of F into the key of Eb. The non-solo trumpet player should play a flugel horn to create a fourth "mellow" voice.
