Launy Grondahl was born in Ordrup, Denmark, on June 30th, 1886. He was a prolific composer who wrote in most genres excluding Opera. His most famous work is the present concerto, composed in 1924. Grondahl died on January 21st, 1960, in Copenhagan, Denmark.
